In April, we held our 7th Annual Chili Cook Off at The Home Team Pub in Liverpool!
We had 22 participants in the Blind Draw Dart Tournament which began at 1:00. Special thanks to Andy Sauer for planning and running the event for us! Congratulations to the winning teams that afternoon - 1st Place Dustine Newman & Dan Wojcik, 2nd Place Andrew Sauer & Zach Brown and 3rd Place Greg Wallace & Brianna Wallace!
For this year's Chili Cook Off we had two separate competions - The Amateur Competition and new this year - The Battle of the Bars!! Special thanks to The Home Team Pub, McAvan's Pub, Monirae's, The Wild Horse and Nibsy's Pub for participating in this first, of what we hope will be many, fun additions to the day - and your incredible donations for our Battle of the Bars Raffle Basket!! Congratulations to the winning teams in both Judge's Choice AND People's Choice - 1st Place McAvan's Pub, 2nd Place The Home Team Pub and 3rd Place Nibsy's Pub!!
In the Amateur Competion we had an INCREDIBLE 9 teams participate!! This year's contenders were Can't Judge This, Two Gloves Chili, Bacon on Fire, The Syracuse Chili Poppers, The Old Dudes, Netflix & Chili, Brisky Business, Chili Chili Bang Bang, and Here for the Beer Part 2. It was a tough competion and everyone did a great job!! Congratulations to the winning teams for Judge's Choice - 1st Place Two Gloves Chili, 2nd Place Can't Judge This and 3rd Place Bacon on Fire!! In the People's Choice category, congratulations in 1st Place Here for the Beer Part 2, in 2nd Place Two Gloves Chili, and in 3rd Place Chili Chili Bang Bang!
We would like to give special thanks to Joey Kalil and the entire staff at The Home Team Pub for hosting the event and making sure everything went smoothly all day, to 92.1 The Wolf's Skip Clark for being our Emcee & one of our 'Celebrity Judges', for TJ Sacco for donating his time to entertain us during the Cook Off and also being one of our 'Celebrity Judges', and to the rest of our panal of Judge's - the Honorable James Cecile, the Honorable Julie Cecile, Sam Solitto's son Steve Solitto, and the Honorable Ted Limpert! Special thanks also goes out to everyone that volunteered the day of the event, everyone who donated raffle items and the unbelievable crowd that came out to enjoy the day!! Thanks to ALL of you we were able to raise almost $7,000 for our Veteran Service Dog Program and that would not be possible with out your generosity and your time!!
